The hypnotic “Mnemomix” series are the field paintings that do not depict specific subjects but reveal an overall unfolding of visual patterns and movements that are evocative of natural growth progressions such as cellular development. The word” Mnemomix” is Kat's invented word combining “mneme” (the single unit of cellular memory) and “mix” alluding to the multi-media surfaces contained in each work.
